Smart Controls for Pools and Spas

As a pool and spa owner in Southern California, you may qualify to receive at no cost, an energy-reducing electronic control, and monitoring of your pool and spa heating systems.

Have an outdoor pool that is heated all year round? The smart controls available through this program could reduce your gas consumption by managing your heaters properly.

ETE's energy-saving controllers could save you money by:
• lowering consumption of natural gas by reducing run-time of pool and spa heaters
• saving energy by monitoring pool pumps and reporting on excessive run time
• monitoring system performance and enabling repairs before equipment failure occurs
• automatic alerting and notfication of improper operation of pool and spa equipment
• extending the life of the pool and spa equipment by reducing system run time

You can determine your overall savings by monitoring your systems, equipment and consumption. ETE does not install controls without monitoring to ensure that the customer is receiving the full benefits of each controller. The data we collect is easily downloaded from the web to generate reports, to optimize savings and to inform repair vendors.

Utilizing today's wireless, Internet and computer technologies, ETE will gather, store, analyze and report on the data received from each pool and/or spa system. Our monitoring will provide the management and control necessary to maintain temperature within 1/10 of a degree and ensure that your systems run at a high level of reliability and efficiency.

The smart controls for Pools and Spas Program is funded by California utility customers and administered by San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E®) and Southern California Gas Company (The Gas CompanySM) under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission, through a contract awarded to Equity Thru Energy (ETE). California customers who choose to participate in this program are not obligated to purchase any additional services offered by the contractor.
